AUTOCLEAR Scanners Protect 16,000 at Singapore's Largest-Ever International Event for IMF and World Bank
November 01, 2006
AUTOCLEAR/Scintrex recently successfully deployed and maintained over
80 sophisticated X-ray systems to help protect the 2006 World Bank and
International Monetary Fund annual joint meeting in Singapore.
The September meeting hosted more than 16,000 delegates. AUTOCLEAR X-ray
equipment was used in three tunnel configurations throughout the event
to inspect packages, personal items, luggage and cargo, for a variety
of threat items. The scanners were installed at a wide variety of venues,
including 5-star hotels and the Conference Center, as requested and
operated by the Singapore Police. The Police are a longstanding owner
and user of AUTOCLEAR and Scintrex fixed and portable noninvasive screening
equipment for explosives and contraband detection.
Chairman and CEO of Control Screening and Scintrex Trace, Brad Conway,
noted, “this large and seminal event demonstrated our extensive
capabilities and flexibility. We provided and supported over eighty
sophisticated, new parcel scanners under the most demanding schedule
and circumstances. Our team planned the logistics and training operations
from inception and provided high value lease financing and immediate,
all-hours response to assure the event was a success. AUTOCLEAR is pleased
that our work helped the Government of Singapore to keep these prestigious
world financial and diplomatic events secure.”
Trusted worldwide and celebrating over 70 years of U.S. and Canadian
