DHS Evaluating AUTOCLEAR/ SCINTREX TRACE Security Screening Products
June 5, 2007
AUTOCLEAR/SCINTREX TRACE has been working to perfect its newest option to its X-ray
detection product line: the Explosives Bottle Scanner.
Needed at most public venues, especially airports, the Bottle Scanner is a simple and effective
way for operators to deter bomb materials in bottles and cans. Through the use of
sophisticated algorithms, the scanner notifies the operator of a possible threat.
The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate is testing
AUTOCLEAR/SCINTREX TRACE’s Bottle Scanner in pursuit of one of four possible awards
based on detecting liquid explosives in bottles and cans.
AUTOCLEAR/SCINTREX TRACE is proud to be one of the finalists in the field being tested
for an award out of the 60 that submitted their names to DHS.
The four categories of awards are: Commercial off-the-shelf solutions (COTS), Research and
Development (R&D), Next-generation of novel technologies, and Support of COTS solutions under
development using innovative algorithms/ data analysis.
